Happy St Davids Day

At the beginning of the year I produce a plan of different dates that we will celebrate throughout the year, and some ideas of the activities we can do in order to celebrate the date.  St Davids day was one of those dates - I had planned to make daffodils with the children, bake Welsh Cakes, read dragon stories and learn all about St David.

St Davids day came and went and we did none of my planned activities as the weather was so glorious!  The children all wanted to play outside all day long, so that is what we did, well apart from a brief hour at playgroup in the morning!

When we got home we got the chalks out and drew on the fence, we played on the slides and the trampolines, we found ladybirds (which J really did not like!), we covered the car in soil, we sat in the paddling pool, we played with the ribbons, we chased the hula hoop, and we had lots of fun being outside and running about!

In honour of St Davids Day I did teach the children that these flowers are daffodils!
