(Frozen) Mud Kitchen

I'm not sure why, but on Thursday the three boys all seemed to have far too much energy to be cooped up in the house, they were running about the coffee table 'nee-nawing' like fire engines and being far too giddy - giving me a headache!!!

It was time to play outside in the back garden!

The children were drawn to the mud kitchen, however it was frozen!  I managed to find a spoon that wasn't frozen and using that I levered the other utensils off the frozen table.

The top of the sandpit had a big frozen puddle on it, the children had great fun smashing the ice up, standing and slipping on it, and then cooking with it at the kitchen.

A big thick circle of ice was retrieved from the bird feeder, it was good to show J as we have been learning shapes this week.

After an hour the children had got rid of some of their energy (and it started raining) so we came inside and had a lovely hot chocolate!
